1934

1934Walking my neighborhood in Tucson, I spotted this home with interesting shapes, open gate, and reflection in the window. The house number is probably not that far off from the date of the home!

Neighborhood Eye – image available on Society6

Please visit the Society6 site with the link below to see my first image that I am making available there, Neighborhood Eye. This image is part of my Neighborhood series and my Modern Viewing series.

Neighborhood EyeOne eye sees, the other feels. – Paul Klee

One of my neighbors in Tucson is a metal artist, mostly recycled items. He has his works all over his yard, in, on and between the cacti. Most of the time I see these works from one direction as I walk by, but this time I turned after I had passed by half of it and saw this eye that I had missed entirely till then. This image is part of my “Neighborhood” series and also and image in my series called “Modern Viewing”

Not a limited edition. Available on Society6 here: http://society6.com/dianayakowitz/neighborhood-eye

Each image that I make available there is printed with archival pigmented inks on 100% rag matte paper (similar to smooth watercolor paper). The images available there are not issued as limited editions and the prices reflect this. I have checked the quality of Society6 prints and they meet with my high standards for a quality photographic print. They are also available in a variety of sizes. I suggest that if you order one, buy the print only and have it framed yourself. If you would like a signed card to keep with the print (or to mount on the back after framing) leave me a message here or to my email address and I will get that to you after your order or sign it personally if you are nearby.

My Mother, My Child

“Man, in his foolishness and shortsightedness, believes he must make choices in this life. He trembles at the risks he takes. We all know, fear. But no. Our choice is of no importance. The moment comes when our eyes are opened, and we see and realize that grace is infinite. We need only await it with confidence and acknowledge it in gratitude. . .” Babette’s FeastImage

“Through all the world there goes one long cry from the heart of the artist: Give me leave to do my utmost.” Babette’s Feast

Rising To the Top

Rising Above the Rest

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
Emily Dickinson

Not many of us rise to the top but we can all celebrate the possibility when we observe another who does.

Putting It All Together

Putting It All Together

Great things are done by a series of small things brought together.
Vincent Van Gogh

On an outing with a photographer friend, I came across this scene left by high tide returning to low tide. The sky completed the illusion for me.
